PINLIGHT was formed with its production offices in Hollywood, CA in 2005. Its first undertaking was to manage and create the deliverables for the feature film"Beat the Drum" which was picked up by MGM International at the time. When MGM's division collapsed in 2009, the film became available on NetFlix. The years of 2009 and 2010 were very difficult at Pinlight because of huge economic challenges and the collapse or bankruptcy of four other studios that were involved distributing our films. PINLIGHT dove into full digital HD shooting and editing, and dropped our Hollywood location. The large offices that once were a necessity became less important to the overall projects as they unfolded.

Pinlight found a niche in creating its own original films, starting with "The Wordz Project" in 2008, and moving on to many more documentaries since then. Some of them have taken producer Richard Shaw all over the world and the U.S. It is not uncommon for Richard to direct, shoot, produce, write and edit most of the films he creates.

Pinlight has developed, produced and edited 12 documentaries since 2010. Ten of them are part of the WATCHERS series, with L.A. Marzulli, who partners with us in each of the films. The latest film by Richard Shaw is TORAH CODES End to Darkness, (2015) making it his tenth documentary he's produced since Pinlight opened.

PINLIGHT once was a post production house that accepted clients for business. We are no longer accepting outside clients since our current work is all-consuming.

TYPES OF MEDIA PINLIGHT shifted into HD production in 2006 as well as standard def. We are constantly watching the evolution of television, which the word "video" no longer really means what it once was.
